We're not at all utterly devastated that you're actually reading the answer to this question right now. We are Adam and Mary! We're getting married and you've received this invitation because we love you, you are important to us, and we can't imagine our big day without you having had the chance to be there with us. Can I Bring a Date? Make sure you have their permission first, but yeah! As long as they don't have any outstanding warrants in Texas we shouldn't have a problem! Are Kids Welcome? Assuming they're yours, yes! Kids are awesome! Plus the Milk and Honey Ranch has tons of activities, not the least of which is an opportunity to have a cuddle session with adorable little highland cows, as well as meeting and feeding cows, donkeys, kangaroos, chickens, bunnies, goats, sheep, minihorses, there's friggin' chickens and peacocks all over the place... It's ridiculously fun. How Do I Get to Milk and Honey Ranch? The Ranch is located smack dab (scientifically speaking) between Houston and Austin. Depending on traffic, you can make the drive in about 1hr 30min from either city, so if you're coming from out of state or country, it's up to you where you'd like to start your journey. We put a map link in the ABOUT page so you can easily plug in your startpoint and get detailed directions, whether it's from Houston, Austin, Dallas, or even if you're making the drive from Australia or Canada. How Do We Get Around This Ranch? For a 45$ fee you can rent a golf cart for yourself and your family to zoom around the whole property with ease!The Ranch spans 54 acres of land and is an active farm and ranch. Most everything that might interest you during your stay is within a comfortable walking distance of all the lodgings, but the ceremony itself WILL be held a good distance from the lodgings. For that reason we DO RECOMMEND arranging your own set of wheels, or at the very least making friends with someone who has. What Else Is There To Do There? Jeesh! Right... a wedding where you can pet highland cows and befriend kangaroos sounds boring, you want something ELSE to do? No problem. There are hiking trails, e-bike courses, a giant lagoon to swim in (weather permitting), or if that's too active you can go fishing in it instead. There's a putting green to improve your short game, a gym so you can earn some extra BBQ calories, a sports court, a pool, multiple hot tubs, an on property spa if you need a massage.... And if you just HAVE to get off property, you're a quick drive from Round Top, Texas, an adorable little town that's known for hosting one of the largest antique fairs in the nation. If shopping's your thing, have fun, be safe, and we'll see you at the ceremony! What Is "Garden Party Cocktail Attire"? We don't know but it sounds cute, can't wait to see what you come up with! Just kidding. Wear comfortable clothing that you feel good in. Dresses above the knee are totally fine, bright colors are encouraged, no ties required, but no one's going to be mad at you if you like them. Also keep in mind, this IS a ranch, so Stiletto heels aren't advised unless you're planning to aerate the soil. If you're struggling to find a fleek look, maybe a google image search will give you ideas? Talk Foodie to Me! We know, it's our favorite too. We got you.There is a cafe on property that does breakfasts, pizzas, sandwiches, muffins and they do excellent smoothies and coffees. The entire property is also dotted with full outdoor kitchens so, if you're worried someone's been trying to poison you, you can prepare your own food and dine without fear. We're having a classic Aussie/Texan backyard barbecue on Friday night as a casual Welcome Party. Burgers (beef/turkey/veggie), hot dogs, veggies and beers. If you have a special thing you want or need please feel free to bring it and contribute to the party!On Saturday we'll be arranging a lunch for everybody and of course the Reception Dinner will be a feast. You'll have to trust us!As a thank you to whoever braves the Texas Wilderness in order to celebrate with us, we'll be cooking everyone breakfast in the Saloon behind The Promised Land Village on Sunday Morning, our first morning as a married couple! Is It Okay To Take Pictures During the Ceremony? We'd really love it if everyone could leave their phones in their pockets for a half hour during the ceremony. Before and after you can have at it. We have great photagraphers who are going to be working hard to get all the perfect shots of the ceremony with all the best gear and we'll make sure to share them with everyone! Don't be phone-photo-bombing the "I Dos" or we'll zoom in on you in the pictures and shame you on TikTok. Is the Wedding Indoors or Outdoors? Don't jinx us! It's outdoors. We have emergency alternatives, but come on, don't jinx us. The reception is indoor/outdoor. Can I Bring My Dog? Some of the rooms are pet friendly, but not all of them. We can figure it out if it's absolutely necessary, but... maybe consider just texting some BBQ photos to your pets and giving them Furbaby FOMO. Also... if it's just some cute dogs that you're after we have you covered... There are two amazing Ranch Dogs that wander the property named Biscuit and Bailey. They're beautiful Great Pyrenees who are ostensibly there to keep the animals safe, but from what we can tell all they do is sleep and get pats from anyone who lays eyes on them. They can't wait to meet you.
